PARTIAL LIST OF CHALLENGES –

 CAMPING-RELATED OUTDOOR HOBBIES AND ACTIVITIES

  A large portion of these Challenges are things to do on a hike or at your campsite and many will center on your campfire. Many are things in which children can participate.  Many others involve outdoor campsite cooking

 OUTDOOR CAMPSITE COOKING & RECIPES CHALLENGES

Submit a picture of a family member doing the cooking over an open fire or coals, plus a picture of the yummie final product.  Dutch oven cooking,  reflector oven, pan frying, grilling or any other method is ok, as long as it is outdoors and not in a microwave or other electric appliance.   Grilling a hamburger or roasting a hotdog or marshmallow do not count as a recipe.  Our judge’s decision will be final as to what constitutes a recipe. 

  1. campfire cooking at the campsite[Four Points]  COOK ONE OF THE RECIPES WE SUPPLY (or one contributed by other contestants) outdoors over an open campfire, on a grill or outdoor stove.  Do it as often as you wish, as long as it is a different recipe each time.
  2. [Five Points] EARN MORE POINTS BY PREPARING YOUR OWN FAVORITE RECIPE – You supply your own favorite recipe, cook it over a wood fire, on the grill or on an outdoor propane stove. (Your recipe will then be posted on our blog and become available to other contestants)

[TWO BONUS POINTS]  IF YOU COOK IT OVER AN OPEN WOOD FIRE.

[FOUR BONUS POINTS] IF YOU COOK IT IN A DUTCH OVEN OVER COALS OR CHARCOAL BRICKETS.

 OTHER CAMPING HOBBIES AND ACTIVITIES  [3 Points each]

  • Go Geocaching and prove it with photos.
  • Pan for gold.  At least two pictures.
  • Enter a wild cave with a flashlight.
  • Take a trail-ride on a horse.
  • Tie 2 flies (for fly fishing)
  • Collect 15 different tree leaves.  Make a group picture. (Family member & the leaves)
  • Take a photo of a bird’s nest with either eggs or chicks.  Get yourself in the picture.          {Be careful not to harm the nest or alarm the mother bird.}
  • Take 2 photos: a snake and a frog or toad. 
  • Take a recognizable night photo of a star constellation, and name it.
  • Find at least a small treasure with a metal detector.
  • Paddle a canoe.
  • Fly a kite.
  • Catch a fish, any size, with a flyrod and dry fly.  If the fish is too small, take the photo and throw the fish back.
  • Catch a fish with a bobber and worm. (a legal keeper)
  • Take clear photos of  5 different wildflowers (in the wild) and identify them
  • Tie 7 different knots, name and label them, and take a pleasing photo of the group.
  • Go swimming in a lake
  • Go square dancing in your Amazing Camp-Land shirt.
  • Participate in campground golf cart parade
  • Attend outdoor movie night at the campground
  • Attend any Nascar race in your Official Amazing Camp-land Race Shirt
  • Take a medium closeup  photo of two different wild mammals.
  • Participate in any organized golfcart event or race at your Campground
  • Take a photo of a family member  (in their Amazing Race shirt) with the guide on a guided nature hike
  • Play shuffleboard at the campground
  • Play volleyball at the campground
  • Play Corn Hole at the campground
  • Play miniature golf in your Official Camp-Land RV Race Shirt
  • Play Bingo at the campground  in your official Camp-Land Race Shirt
  • Draw a freehand picture outdoors on an  i-pad, a piece of paper or other appropriate medium.  Take a photo of the artist (in Race shirt) working on the drawing and another photo of the finished product.  Include a caption and/or the artist’s age if you wish.  Any of the following subjects will qualify.  Do as many different pictures as you wish and score for each one.  They will be published on our blog.
