- PARKE COUNTY COVERED BRIDGE FESTIVAL in Southern Indiana starts the 2nd FRIDAY OF OCTOBER AND RUNS THROUGH 2 WEEKENDS. http://www.coveredbridges.com/ There are many campgrounds in the area and, during that week, many makeshift campgrounds. (15 points)
- IF YOU ARE NOT THAT FOND OF BIG CROWDS, YOU CAN VISIT PARKE COUNTY ANY TIME AND EARN 3 POINTS FOR SEEING A COVERED BRIDGE (They claim to have 40 in the area.)
- WITNESS THE AMAZING SANDHILL CRANE FALL MIGRATION at Jasper Pulaski State Fish & Game Area near Medaryville, IN. Peak time is usually OCTOBER-NOVEMBER. http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/3091.htm This is an amazing spectacle when thousands of these big birds congregate in an open field near an observation platform. They no longer allow camping in the park, but there are numerous campgrounds nearby. (15 points)
