GRAND DESIGN MOMENTUM 376TH WINS ANOTHER AWARD

GRAND DESIGN MOMENTUM 376TH WINS ANOTHER AWARD

IS IT A CONVENTIONAL 5th WHEEL WITH A HUGE STORAGE COMPARTMENT?  OR …
IS IT A TOY HAULER WITH A FANTASTIC FLOORPLAN?

Grand Design has done it again — They came up with a truly ingenius 5th wheel design that

seems to perform magic.  The Momentum 376TH is a luxury extended-stay, front living room 5th

wheel with a a rear Queen bedroom …. PLUS a garage and an outdoor kitchen tucked away in

the basement.  Seems impossible!  You just have to see it!  VISIT OUR WEBSITE FOR LOTS OF PICTURES.

The following item appeared in Greg Gerber’s Jan. 25, 2016 online issue of the RV Daily

Report.

Grand Design Wins “Best of Show” Honor

The Momentum 376TH garage provides a storage space that allows the vehicle to have all of

the living quarters and interior appeal of a luxury fifth wheel while still having versatile

space for a motorcycle, golf cart, or room for extra storage.

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — Grand Design Recreational Vehicle Company continues to turn heads as the

new Momentum 376TH was selected by RV Pro as “best of show,” the company announced today.

RV Pro’s write-up on the Momentum hits on how Grand Design listened to customer feedback and

created a class of toy hauler that previously did not exist, the release noted.

The Momentum 376TH garage provides a storage space that allows the vehicle to have all of

the living quarters and interior appeal of a luxury fifth wheel while still having versatile

space for a motorcycle, golf cart, or room for extra storage that might be desired by

full-time RVers.

The RV Pro Best of Show Award is added to the growing list of recent awards received by

Grand Design including the the RV Dealers Association’s DSI Award, the Trailer Life Gold

Readers’ Choice Award, and the RV Business 2016 Top RV Debut.

RV Pro Magazine’s article about “BEST OF SHOW” Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Welcome to RV PRO’s sixth annual “Best of Show” coverage, highlighting

standout motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers on display at the 53rd annual National

RV Trade Show.

Grand Design Momentum 376TH

There are a multitude of variations on toy haulers. Basic trailers with few amenities.

Luxury trailers with garages in back. Travel trailers with a deck on the front to load toys.

But with the newest Momentum floorplan, Grand Design hit on a concept that meets some of the

needs that conventional toy haulers haven’t solved yet.

Momentum’s garage is, in essence, a basement that allows the vehicle to have all of the

living quarters and space of a regular fifth wheel while still having space for a motorcycle

or golf cart or just plain room for extra storage that might be desired by full-time RVers.

The 9-foot-long, 54-inch-wide garage area is fully enclosed and separate from the living

quarters.

And despite the garage space, there’s still room for a full-sized bedroom in the space above

the garage. The bedroom features dual closets and nightstands on either side of the queen

bed.

Five slides provide ample interior space for a large kitchen and pass-through bathroom as

well as a large front living room with 50-inch television. The living area includes theater

seating with 80-inch tri-fold sofa beds on both sides of the room.

External features include an outdoor kitchen and entertainment center as well as a second

pass-through storage center.

“I’ve been trying to build a front lounge toy hauler for a number of years, but you always

end up compromising something in order to get the layout you want,” says General Manager

Nate Golden- berg. “These units are pushing 100 grand and the people end up sleeping in the

garage. With this, we were able to build a true front lounge with no compromises. I’m really

anxious to see what kind of customer this attracts. It is really customer friendly. Even

some full-timers might not use the garage for a motorcycle or a golf cart, but they still

have a lot of possessions they want to put in there.”

Momentum 376TH checks in at 15,900 pounds and 41-feet, 3-inches long with fresh water

capacity of 117 gallons. The triple- axle vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating of

19,500 pounds. MSRP is around $98,000.

What Impressed RV PRO:
Although the garage probably isn’t big enough to handle a Polaris RZR, it will handle a

full-sized motorcycle or golf cart. Having the external, enclosed space makes for a full RV.

It also keeps mud and fumes that might be associated with the toys outside of the living

compartmen

INTEREST RATE INCREASE NEXT MONTH A NEAR CERTAINTY

CHICAGO TRIBUNE SAYS INTEREST RATE HIKE COMING IN DECEMBER

Today’s Chicago Tribune reports that a Federal Reserve increase in the interest rate next month is a “near certainty”.  It would be the first interest rate increase in nearly a decade.  The Fed cut the short-term interest rate that it controls to near zero in 2008 to try to stimulate growth during the recession.  Now, with unemployment down to 5%, the Fed is expected to increase rate at their next meeting Dec. 15-16.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR RV LOANS?

Interest rates for RV loans have been at record low levels for so long that it almost seems like the new normal.  But we will probably begin to see a return to the much higher pre-recession rates for auto and RV loans.  It may happen gradually or it may happen more quickly!  This could  be the last chance to lock in the current low rates.

RIGHT NOW IS THE SMART TIME TO BUY NEW OR PRE-OWNED RV

If you are a potential  first-time RV buyer, now is the time to do it!  If you still have an RV with a long term loan at the high pre-recession interest rates, now is the time to trade it in and lock in the current low rates.  You may find that you can have a new RV at a monthly payment that is as low as, or even lower than, the payment on your old one.  The window of opportunity is closing.

CAMP-LAND RV SUMMER NEWSLETTER

CAMP LAND RV NEWSLETTER

JUNE 2014

AN OCCASIONAL LETTER TO LET OUR CUSTOMERS KNOW ABOUT CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS

We are in the midst of our month-long 53rd  Anniversary Sell-A Bration and want to invite you to come visit us.  We are proud to have been in this exciting business for 53 years —  now with 2nd  generation management.

There are a lot of great things going on right now in the RV world.  New products.  New features.  Fresh new floorplans.  Ways to make campers lighter weight.

# 1 SELLING JAYFLIGHT TRAVEL TRAILERS are now available with optional fiberglass exterior.  Jayflight has for years been the country’s most popular aluminum-skin line of travel trailers because of their practical floor plans and quality interiors and cabinetry.  Now you can get the same Jayflight with optional fiberglass in place of the aluminum skin.  Fiberglass looks sharp, is easier to keep clean and is hail resistant.  Hail resistance is especially desirable here in the Midwest where hail storms are common.

LIGHTWEIGHT TRAVEL TRAILERS – Expandable hybrid  travel trailers have been very popular for several years as one answer to the need for more room in a lightweight, easy-to-tow camper.  Jayco has been dominant in expandables and has come out with several new floorplans and lighter weight models.  We have a huge selection in stock, ready to go for your next camping trip.

Travel trailers with laminated fiberglass construction are lighter than conventional wood construction.  They have walls with an aluminum framework instead of wood.  The walls are a sandwich of fiberglass outer skin, a thin plywood underlayment, thick foam insulation center and the inner paneling.  Lighter weight and resistant to water, they usually cost more than conventional campers.

Apex travel trailers built by Coachmen have taken lightweight one step further.  They have a laminated fiberglass exterior and foam insulation but the layer between the outer fiberglass and the foam insulation is Azdel composite panels instead of plywood.  Azdel panels are thin rigid panels made from a synthetic material that is impervious to water, won’t rot or mold and is extremely light weight.  It cannot delaminate the way the plywood underlayment can when wet.  Costs a little more, but not as much as you might expect. For example, the Apex model 288BH has double over double bunkbeds, private walkaround queen bedroom and outdoor patio kitchen.  It weighs under 5000 lbs. and is selling for under $26,000 during our Anniversary Sale.

SMALL MOTORHOMES –  The pet-friendly Thor A.C.E. class A motorhomes were so popular that we ran out early last summer.  We stocked up this Spring and have more on the way, so we hope we won’t run out this year.  There are several floorplans from 27 to 31 feet, all featuring private bedrooms with walkaround queen beds (or king in one model).  They also have an electric drop-down queen bed over the front living area, which provides a second bed that can be left permanently made up, if you need it.

There are exciting developments in really small, fun-to-drive motorhomes.  Without the height and cabover of a conventional Class C, they are sleek and aerodynamic.  Winnebago’s diesel View has been around for a while.  Their model 24 G has a rear slide-out that makes possible a walk-around queen bed in the rear bedroom.  The new Four Winds Siesta 24 SR has a similar rear slide-out bedroom and is also on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis.

The big news this year is Winnebago’s sleek new Trend Motorhome built on the RAM ProMaster 6 cylinder, front-wheel drive, gasoline chassis.  All the people here at Camp Land that have taken it for a test drive came back with the same report: “It is a joy to drive!”  There are two floorplans, both of which have a queen size electric drop-down bed over the living area.  One model also has a permanent ground level bed in the rear.  If ease of driving is high on your priority list, you should look at the Winnebago Trend.

LARGER MOTORHOMES   Two 35 foot Winnebago models have emerged as leaders among the larger motorhomes.  The bath-and-a-half Vista 35F has created a bit of a sensation.  It has a great master bedroom suite with a large bathroom and another half bath in the living area.

The Sightseer 35G has 3 big slide-outs which allow room for a king size bed and a spectacular living room.  It comes with washer/dryer, LED lighting and all the quality extras you would expect in a Winnebago Sightseer.

GRAND DESIGN 5th WHEELS   The Grand Design family of 5th Wheels are the most exciting new RVs we have seen in many years.  The Grand Design Solitude is an extended stay 5th Wheel that comes in several models. The bedroom is amazing. The Grand Design Reflection is a luxury 5th Wheel that falls in a popular price range.  There are several models to choose from and they sell as fast as we can get them.  The Grand Design Momentum is a top-of-the-line toy hauler available in three different floorplans.  If you are in the market for a 5th Wheel, you must see the Grand Design products.

PLEASE COME JOIN OUR SELL-A-BRATION

There are lots of exciting new product developments for you to see during our Anniversary event.  One of the most exciting new things is Jayco’s new option of a fiberglass exterior on their industry leading Jayflight line of travel trailers.  Jayflight was already the # 1 best selling line of aluminum campers in the country, with their sharp interiors and cabinetry.   The optoion of replacing the aluminum skin with fiberglass isn’t terribly costly and you have all the hail resistance and easy cleaning of a laminated fiberglass exterior.  Laminated construction is lighter weight, but if weight isn’t a problem, these Jayflights with the fiberglass exterior are SHARP.

If weight is a serious consideration, a couple of real winners have come to the forefront this year.  Apex by Coachmen is a rising star.  Extremely lightweight because they are not only of laminated fiberglass construction but also use more costly Adzel Composite panels instead of wood paneling.  Surprisingly the overall cost of the Apex trailers is not much more than a conventionally built Apex 288 BHS

fiberglass camper.  Apex also has some innovative floorplans that are HOT.  They were one of the first to introduce double over double bunk beds which are comfortable for adults as well as children.  The Apex 288 BHS is a bunkhouse that weighs under 5,000 lbs. and has created quite a sensation.  It has double over double bunks, a slideout and private queen  bedroom.  The new fiberglass front end cap with LED lighting is a very classy touch.  The only down side is that we have a hard time getting them fast enough during the busy season.

Winnebago Minnie Travel Trailers are all under 5100 lbs. and their colorful exterior fiberglass is striking.  In fact, more colorful exteriors are a trend that is noticeable.  Most are not quite as bright as the Minnie, but grey and beige are becoming more common than plain white.  Winnebago  Ultralite 31 BHDS bunkhouse and the Coleman 297 RE are hot new  floorplans for families and couples respectively

The park contains many important historical and geological features, such as Fort Mackinac, Fort Holmes, other historic buildings, historic sites, limestone caves, and other unique rock formations.
