Some additional Team Bates Recipes
Need: 1 banana per person
Bag of milk chocolate chips
Bag of mini Marshmallows
Knife and Fork
Make a cut in the banana from end to end with the knife. Use a fork to mash up the banana inside the skin. Sprinkle Marshmallows and chocolate chips in the banana opening. Wrap in foil and put over fire until marshmallows and chocolate are melted(gooey). About 10 minutes depending on heat of the fire, but check often so it doesn’t burn. Open and enjoy. It is a very sweet and rich dessert! (If you don’t like banana, an alternative we’ve done before is filling a sugar ice cream cone with the marshmallows and chocolate, wrap in foil and cook the same)
Pie Iron Calzones
pre-made pizza dough in a tube: 1 tube makes 3 calzones
shredded pizza cheese
favorite pizza toppings
1-spray pam on both sides of pie iron
2-cut rectangle of pizza dough in 3 equal sized rectangle pieces
3-Put 1 piece of dough in one side of pie iron, half will hang out
4-spread pizza sauce on dough in pie iron
6-add toppings of choice (ex. Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives, green pepper, onion, mushrooms, etc.)
7-fold over remaining dough hanging out of pie iron to cover your calzone. Pinch edges of the dough together before putting top of the pie iron on.
8-Cook over fire until warm and crisp. Check on it every few minutes, time will depend on heat. Make sure to flip iron to cook on both sides.
Give it a few minutes to cool, insides will be hot! Enjoy.
Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers
6 large jalapenos
1/8 c. shredded parmesan
1/8 c. sharp shredded cheese
4oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. cooked shredded chicken
6 slices of cooked crisp bacon
1-cut jalapenos in half, clean out all seeds and cut stem off
2-mix the three cheeses, chicken and bacon in a bowl
3-spoon mixture into the jalapeno halves
4-grill jalapenos over direct heat until pepper is cooked to your liking. The longer it is cooked the softer and less hot the pepper will be.
Enjoy! You can substitute sweet peppers or banana peppers if you don’t like the heat of the jalapenos, but it gives it a different taste. The Sweet Pepper Recipe IS coming shortly.
